Terra Incognita presents Johan Padan and the Discovery of the Americas by Dario Fo

Hoy Polloy artistic director, Wayne Pearn directs Johan Padan and the Discovery of the Americas by Dario Fo – a monologue presented by Terra Incognita featuring Steve Gome.

Johan Padan and the Discovery of the Americas is an imaginative re-telling of the earliest encounters between the European and the indigenous peoples of the Caribbean, Southern America and Mexico. 

Inspired by the historical exploits of the likes of Cabeza de Vaca and Guerriero, the story was conceived as an alternative to the official commemorations of Columbus’ voyages. 

Johan Padan is an epic monologue with a cast of thousands teeming with life, action, humour and surprises.

Recipient of The R E Ross Trust Playwrights' Script Development Award 2009, Rhonda Is In Therapy by Bridgette Burton, produced in partnership by Hoy Polloy Theatre Productions and Baggage Productions, is a new Australian work that explores the themes of loss and grief. After an unimaginable accident, Rhonda takes flight from reality and seeks refuge in a delusional world – searching for emotional and physical relief. The powerful and explicit text, finely balanced with an edge of humour, mines the depths of Rhonda's imagined world and the relationships with her husband, daughter and lover. Rhonda Is In Therapy will premiere at fortyfivedownstairs in September 2012.
